The Forgotten Ones- Queer and Trans Voices In Prisons

“When we track the start of prisons in the UK, I see our community. I see our history. Queerness has a deep-rooted history in prison due to the struggles of housing, criminalising of sex work, lack of jobs accessible for trans and queer people, lack of mental health support and protesting that has to do to create change on a structural level throughout history.”

The Forgotten Ones is an ongoing research project on how we, as the queer community, support our imprisoned others.

The research was funded and supported by Culture Collective. Some sharing of research was presented in June 2023 to The Queer Collective as a part of Culture Collective.
