They Stand Ready is a slapstick, theatre and dance show for younger audiences (5-12yrs) about the power of daring to be your colourful self in a world that grows greyer every day.

The performance features two individuals named Roger - one who identifies as transmasculine and the other as genderqueer.

These clown personas embody "proper" upper-class Britishness and masculinity - everything we are not!

They are situated in a safe space known as the "queer bunker" and are waiting for the "War on gender" to conclude. During their wait, they delve into the meaning of being transgender, explore ways to maintain hope whilst waiting for systematic change and practice their silly dance routines. The show has an aesthetic of 1940s wartime Britain to unpack themes of isolation, anti-trans propaganda in the media, and the challenges faced by the trans community in expressing their true identity. The show begins with the whole stage and the performer's costume in black and white. Through shadow play and AV/digital trickery, the show ends in a rainbow of colour.

The show uses audio description and creative captioning through a radio that narrates the whole piece.

This show was created specifically to be taken on a tour to different Primary schools.
